Welcome to the latest edition of Legal LinkedInfluencers.
This quarter felt like a turning point, not just in numbers but in tone. The novelty of LinkedIn influence has faded. What we’re seeing now is depth, consistency and a different kind of confidence.
A year ago, it took 1,200 likes to crack the top 100. Now, it’s more than 2,600. And it’s not just that the numbers are up. The voices behind them are clearer, braver and more distinct. There’s still plenty of first-wave energy here, but a second wave is stepping in. These aren’t imitators, but fluent, assured contributors who’ve been watching and learning. Many are now setting the pace.
Higgs LLP remains a standout, topping our Power Score table for firm-wide consistency. But this quarter didn’t belong to any one brand. It belonged to the individuals, some in big firms and some working independently, who’ve realised that LinkedIn is less about polished updates and more about showing up with purpose.
The volume is louder. The tone is more human. And the community? Bigger, more diverse, and more willing to lift each other up.
I hope this edition gives you fresh ideas, new people to follow, and maybe just enough of a nudge to post something of your own.
To qualify now for the main table, you need to post a minimum of six times per quarter. That means that we reduce the exposure to shocks in promotions season and promote greater consistent use of LinkedIn.
Otherwise, nothing else has changed on the scoring front.
We add up people’s likes and comments and score them as likes + (4*comments) to give them a Power Score per post. We then tot up the total Power Score for the quarter and rank everyone.
In total, we considered 17,500+ profiles this quarter across all categories. Something like 14,000 for this main list. Not all the people who posted this quarter, but a good proportion of them.
Should you be ranked in our reports?
The report includes a link to a calculator where you can work out whether you should be included in our Top 100.
If your power score:
is over 11,800, you’d rank in the top 10
is over 7,100, you’d rank in the top 25
is over 2,600, you’d rank in the top 100
So if you score anything over 2,000, it’s worth letting us know so we can consider you in our future rankings.
