GCs EDITION

Q2 2026 RESULTS

Welcome to the Q2 2026 GC edition of Legal LinkedInfluencers, proudly sponsored by Arbor Law.

Three and a half years ago, we started counting: likes plus four times comments, to work out who is actually shaping how lawyers think on LinkedIn. This quarter, for the first time, the general counsel list runs to a hundred names.

That is not us inventing a category to fill a page. When we started, in-house voices on the platform were a handful of exceptions. Now put the GC table next to our main Legal LinkedInfluencers list and eleven of them post scores that would sit inside the main top 100.

The in-house bar is not a sideshow to the influencer conversation any more. It sits well inside it.

And here is what the raw numbers don’t show: these people are not networking. They are campaigning.

Tom Hambrett at Revolut is publishing the operating manual for the legal function he’s building. Matthew Letts is naming where the profession is broken, from AI hallucinations in court filings to how junior lawyers get treated by their regulator. Alana Tart is dissecting status and power, subjects lawyers discuss privately and post about rarely. Iqra Ali is telling people the truth about the route into the profession while she’s still close enough to remember it.

Three patterns run through this quarter’s top ten, and you’ll find them repeated through the rest of the hundred. The winners are specialists, not generalists. They don’t separate the personal from the professional. And several of them are using their platform for other people, not just themselves.

If you’re in private practice and your firm’s voice on these subjects is a quarterly newsletter, you’re not in the conversation. The buyers are. The good news: none of this requires a big following or a comms team. It requires a subject you actually know, a view you’re prepared to defend, and the consistency to keep showing up.

Should you be ranked in our reports?

As a guide, you’ll need a power score of around 450 to rank in the Top 100 GCs.

Our methodology: total likes plus four times total comments across Q2 (1 April to 30 June) gives you your power score.

If you are close to 450 by the end of the next quarter (ends 30 September), it’s worth submitting your data through this form.

The LinkedInfluencer
Best Practice Club

We started the Legal LinkedInfluencers to inspire lawyers to get going on LinkedIn. Over the last three years, it’s turned into an amazing community of people within the legal sector.

This is where that community will live, and for the next 14 days, it’s free to join. After that, it’s £15 a month plus VAT if you choose to stay.

Inside the club, you’ll get:

  • Direct access to Si and Jacob – regular tips, videos, and live AMAs
  • A place to brainstorm and bounce ideas off like-minded people
  • A pool of people to refer work to and receive work from in return
  • Honest feedback on the draft posts you’re nervous about sharing
