Pull quote

“I don’t see this as ‘special treatment’. It’s just decent service.”
From a 19 November 2025 post about adjusting a client care letter for a client with ADHD and dyslexia. 621 likes, 81 comments. One line that does the work of a whole client-care manual.

Current ranking: #2

Signature move

Volume plus voice. Mather posts roughly 1.5 times a day. Almost none of it is reshared, 4 out of 235 in the sample, which is the format mix of someone who is not relying on anyone else for inventory. He writes short, declarative posts with strong line breaks, usually built around a single observation or a single question. The questions get answered in the comments, which is why his average of 15 comments per post is high enough to dominate the algorithm even when an individual post does not go viral.

Topic fingerprint

  • Cultural commentary. Public figures, sport, current affairs. The Eileen Gu post, the Rishi Sunak post. These produce his biggest spikes.
  • How he runs his practice. Client care, accessibility, AI in the workflow, plain English. The ADHD-and-dyslexia post is the canonical example.
  • Engagement questions done well. Grammar prompts, “which is correct?”, short polls. Designed to pull comments. They work.
  • Industry pokes. Billing models, the legal profession’s reluctance to change, the absurdities of how lawyers are paid.
  • Personal asides. Family, sport, observations from daily life. Low-effort filler that humanises the feed and keeps the cadence going.

Best post of the quarter

A 130-word riff on Eileen Gu as a role model, posted 24 February 2026. 3,629 likes, 304 comments. Nothing about law, nothing about Nexa. Pure character post. It outperformed his next best by a factor of seven.

Firm context

Nexa is one of the most LinkedIn-active firms in the TBD dataset, with 108 tracked people contributing a combined power score of 697,624 across the window. Mather’s 21,034 is about 3% of that, which sounds modest until you remember Nexa’s model is built on a federation of independent operators. He is not carrying the firm; he is setting the tone for what works in that environment.

Why follow him?

  • If you want to see what daily posting actually looks like when it is working.
  • If you want a working example of how non-legal content can drive a legal personal brand without diluting it.
  • If you run a firm and you are wondering whether your people should post about clients, current affairs, or both. Mather posts about both, and the data says both are pulling weight.

If you only read one of his posts, read this

The “my client told me he had ADHD and dyslexia” post. He runs the client care letter through AI to produce a plain-English summary, then offers a free video call to walk through it. Practical, on-brand, and the kind of small operational change that distinguishes the firms that mean what they say from the firms that say what they think clients want to hear.

In his own words

“My goal is pretty simple: when someone’s asked whether they know a good lawyer, I’d like to be the first name in their mind. Visibility, I’ve learned, is a way to achieve that. Going viral is a nice accident now and then, but it’s the consistency of posting that actually helps.
You have to be more than visible to get work though. So hopefully I demonstrate that I know my beans, and would be nice to work with too.
And the proof is in the eating; I regularly get work and referrals through the DMs.”
